Konstantinos Rokas’ expertise spans multiple fields, including law, economics, computer science and mathematics. Highly educated at some of the most prestigious universities in the United States, his resume includes degrees in electrical engineering, mathematics and economics from Yale University (magna cum laude), a master’s and doctorate in economics from Princeton University, and a J.D. degree from Georgetown University Law Center.
Konstantinos Rokas is a US attorney, licensed to practice law in the states of Pennsylvania, New York and New Jersey in the US, and focuses his practice on international issues related to US tax and immigration matters. He regularly assists individuals with U.S. tax liability in preparing tax returns and disclosing undisclosed income and foreign bank accounts, both through the Streamlined Foreign/Domestic Offshore Program and the Offshore Voluntary Disclosure Program. In addition to tax law, Dr. Rokas also has excellent knowledge of U.S. law and immigration procedures. He is a member of both the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and the American Bar Association and has served as managing editor of the Georgetown Immigration Law Journal.
Konstantinos Rokas is also an expert in legal knowledge engineering, i.e. the development of rule-based systems that interpret laws and create documents in an automated way. He has undertaken IT contracts to implement laws and regulations for various government agencies, including the IRS, the U.S. Census Bureau, the State of Idaho, the State of Massachusetts, and others. He is an experienced computer programmer, familiar with PHP, MySQL, C and more.
Finally, Konstantinos Rokas is an economist and has written research papers in microeconomic theory and industrial organization. He regularly teaches at the Microeconomic Theory Laboratory at the University of Athens. He has previously worked as a financial consultant, as a financial analyst in a hedge fund and as a legal associate in a patent law firm. He also actively participates in high school mathematics competitions. As a high school student, he was awarded a bronze and silver medal at the Balkan Mathematical Olympiad, a gold medal at the Mediterranean Mathematical Olympiad and also worked as a coordinator (scorer) at the International Mathematical Olympiad in Athens (2004), Merida, Mexico (2005) and Madrid, Spain (2008).
