In recent days, our office has been receiving daily calls from individuals born in the U.S. who have been asked by Greek or foreign banks to complete the W-9/W-8BEN form. This occurs because banks have agreed with the U.S. tax authorities to identify individuals with indications of American citizenship, collect their information, and forward it to the U.S.

U.S. citizens are therefore required to complete the W-9 form and ensure they are in compliance with all their tax obligations to the U.S. government. Our office will be happy to answer any questions you may have regarding this matter.
