About the Attorney

Rokas001 Dr. Konstantinos N. Rokas’s expertise spans multiple fields including the law, economics, computer science and mathematics. Highly educated at some of the most prestigious universities in the United States, his resume includes a bachelor of science in electrical engineering, mathematics and economics from Yale University (magna cum laude), a master and a Ph.D. degree in economics from Princeton University and a J.D. degree from the Georgetown University Law Center.

Dr. Rokas is a licensed US attorney, admitted to practice in the state of Pennsylvania, the state of New York, the state of New Jersey, the US district court for the district of New Jersey and the US tax court. He is a member of the American Immigration Lawyer’s Association, the American Bar Association and has served as managing editor of the Georgetown Immigration Law Journal. He represents individuals from all states and all foreign countries before USCIS and US embassies and consulates abroad. An immigrant himself, having moved to the United States from Greece in 1999, Dr. Rokas is highly knowledgeable on US immigration law and procedures, focuses on the letter of the law and continuously follows new developments in the immigration area. Besides immigration, he is involved with matters involving US tax law and startups. He is admitted before the United States Tax Court and is also certified as an Enrolled Agent with the Internal Revenue Service. He has handled numerous cases involving undisclosed foreign bank accounts, both under the Streamlined Program as well as the Offshore Voluntary Disclosure Program.

Dr. Rokas is also a maven in legal knowledge engineering, that is, developing rule-based systems that interpret laws and generate documents in an automated fashion. He has worked as a contractor for the federal government (IRS, US Census) and is an experienced computer programer, familiar with PHP, MySQL, Xojo, C and is an Oracle Policy Automation Certified Implementation Specialist. He has also developed the website uscitizenornot.com that won the first prize at the iron tech lawyer competition at Georgetown University.

Finally, Dr. Rokas is a highly regarded economist, has written research papers in microeconomic theory and industrial organization and has taught the microeconomic theory workshop at the University of Athens. He is presently an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Athens University of Economics and Business, teaching the Law and Economics course. He has previously worked as an economic consultant, as a financial analyst in a hedge fund and as a legal associate in a patent law firm. He is also actively involved with high school mathematics competitions. As a high school student, he was awarded both a bronze and a silver medal in the balkan mathematical olympiad, a gold medal in the Mediterranean mathematical olympiad and has also worked as a coordinator (grader) for the international mathematical olympiad in Athens, Greece (2004), in Merida, Mexico (2005) and in Madrid, Spain (2008).
